Centinela Feed: The LA Pet Supply Company Putting LA Pets First

Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies, a Los Angeles pet supply store does more than just sell animal supplies to our community, they support local non-profits like PAWS/LA with services and donations. It is their local outreach that helps make LA pet friendly for all companion animals and their humans.
It makes perfect sense for a local animal business to support PAWS/LA. We have a shared goal of keeping companion animals with their owners to offer their love and support for as long as possible. Even so, that doesn’t happen without loving and caring owners. As a family owned company for over 40 years it is Dwight and Chris Nakagawa who are those thoughtful and giving leaders.
Dwight explains, “We believe, between Chris and myself, it’s important to give back and help someone else who may need some things and PAWS/LA is a great way to give back.”
The pet supply store began at 4307 Centinela Avenue in Mar Vista. Although the original small building no longer exists you can find Centinela stores are all over LA and Orange County. This growth hasn’t stopped them from helping LA pets and their owners.
As Dwight explains, “As we continue our growth on the retail side it’s important for us to stay plugged into the community as well. So, partnerships with non-profits like PAWS/LA are very important to us, because it allows us to give back to people and pets.”
Recently we, at PAWS/LA found that our client’s need for pet food was bigger than what we were able to supply. An outreach to our individual supporters for food donations via our Amazon wish list helped, but wasn’t enough to fill the gap we had. Centinela Feed and Pet Supply came to our rescue and the rescue of our client’s companion animals. They stepped up and donated a large supply of food – 7 pallets!
Centinela Feed has been a part of the PAWS/LA family for years. In fact we pick up small pet food donations from their warehouse bi-monthly. PAWS/LA thanks Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies, Dwight and Chris Nakagawa, their employees and their customers for their support through the years. Their donations are greatly appreciated.
