As many of you know, PAWS/LA is launching a new program called PROJECT PETSTRONG to help Veterans with PTSD keep and care for their companion animals.
We want to spread the word about our new program and the fact that we've been helping low-income seniors and People Living with HIV/AIDS maintain their pets since the late 80s.
PROJECT PETSTRONG is special because it is designed to ease the financial, physical and emotional challenges of caring for a companion animal, both in and outside of the home.
This weekend, Kevin and Bella shared their story on 102.7 KIIS FM's Community Council show. Click below to hear their interview:
PAWS/LA TO LAUNCH PROGRAM FOR VETERANS WITH PTSD AND THEIR PETS
Elaine turned to PAWS/LA for help. Taking care of “special needs” animals can be extremely challenging for seniors like her who struggle to pay for their own healthcare and basic necessities. But she loves her companion animals, and she made a commitment to keep them safe and care for them. That's why she turned to PAWS/LA.
Over the weekend, PAWS/LA was featured on the iHeart Media program Community Council. Click the link or image below to listen to the full interview:
"PAWS LA is currently hosting the UnRun Challenge! The UnRun Challenge is a virtual charity event that raises funds to help low-income elderly and medically-disabled animal guardians care for their beloved pets. Instead of spending lots of money producing a traditional, large-scale charity run, the UnRun Challenge ensures that 100% of funds raised will support free services, including veterinary care, pet food and supplies to care for pets and the people who love them."
