20th Anniversary Fete Features Lily Tomlin

On Thursday, October 29, 2009, PAWS/LA celebrated 20 years of keeping people and pets together with a gala dinner event held at the Avalon Hollywood.

This very special evening featured Lily Tomlin, the Emmy-award winning comedienne and star of television, theater, and film in an “up close and personal” conversation with the audience.

Ms. Tomlin was joined by her Desperate Housewives “sister”, Emmy-winner, Kathryn Joosten which provided the crowd with a lively, intimate evening.

Renowned comediennes, Wendy Liebman and Merrill Markoe, emceed the event and preformed their own special material. In addition to the comic relief, PAWS/LA honored selected individuals for their commitment and dedication to the agency’s mission. Honorees included, Elizabeth Taylor and the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation; Paul Jolly and the PetCo Foundation, and PAWS/LA Founder, Nadia Sutton.

The 20th Anniversary Gala was sponsored by the Petco Foundation, Wells Fargo, David Bohnett Foundation, Wallis Foundation, Automated Case Management Systems, Carl Jud Foundation, Blue Angel Vodka, K & L Wine Merchants and Hamilton Selway Fine Art.
